This September, CTS came together for a heartwarming cause: Macmillan Coffee Morning. We enjoyed a spread of cakes, coffee and treats, all while helping to raise £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

What is Macmillan Coffee Morning?

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event. The idea is simple: people host gatherings over tea, coffee, cake, and other refreshments, and instead of charging a fee, they ask attendees to donate to Macmillan.

Donations from these Coffee Mornings help support the estimated 3.5 million people in the UK living with cancer from diagnosis through to treatment (Charity Coffee Morning | Macmillan Coffee Morning). The funds raised help Macmillan provide specialist nursing care, emotional support, financial guidance, and practical assistance to patents and their families.

Since the first Coffee Morning in 1990, the event has grown enormously. Over the years, it has become one of the UK’s most loved community fundraisers, with thousands hosting every year.

How CTS Raised Funds

At CTS, the event was a chance to pause, share a slice of cake, and enjoy the company of colleagues – all while giving back. Louise reflected on the morning, saying, “Lovely cakes everyone at CTS – thank you, and for such a great cause”.

Nick summed up the mood at the event with a heartfelt thanks: “Good job organising this, Angelo, and all who contributed. A charity close to my heart and no doubt countless others.” His words captured the deeper significance of the morning, reminding us that Macmillan’s work touches many lives in personal ways.

Together, these small but meaningful contributions – whether baking, donating or simply turning up for a cuppa – added up to a collective effort that raised £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Why It Matters

Cancer affects so many lives – patients, families, caregivers, and whole communities. Macmillan’s work is vital in bridging gaps that clinical care alone cannot always fill, including emotional support, navigating treatment pathways, coping with financial strain, and providing a listening ear.

By taking part, we have helped ensure that people facing cancer don’t feel isolated, and that they have access to the care and resources they deserve.

Donate & Continue the Support

If you would like to add to what CTS raised, you can make a donation to Macmillan via their official Coffee Morning donation page: http://donation.macmillan.org.uk/wbcm/one-off

Together, even small contributions add up – and every pound helps Macmillan do whatever it takes for people affected by cancer.
